Mixed-Level Handbuilding is designed for students of all levels of experience. In this class students will learn a variety of clay construction techniques. 8-week course.
Have you always wanted to learn how to spin pots? Beginner students will learn a variety of techniques to create usable pottery. Students with previous experience will learn techniques to make more complex forms and build their skill set. 8-week course.
Explore several techniques as a beginner in pottery wheel throwing! Guided Instruction with your choice of focus area. 8-week course. Time to practice during Open Hours included.
Designed for those with no wheel-throwing experience, learn from the basics! 8-week course. Time to practice during scheduled Open Hours included.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Whether beginner or advanced, Mixed-Level Handbuilding is designed for students of all levels of experience . In this class students will learn a variety of clay construction techniques and will explore techniques like pinching, coiling, slab building, and using simple molds . Students will investigate various surface decoration techniques; gaining an understanding in techniques such as slip trailing, incising, stamped impressions, and wax resist to enhance their toolbox of clay knowledge . Each week students will be challenged to grow and evolve creatively through guided instruction and through self-guided practice with scheduled Open Studio times .
Min. 6 Students; Max 10
Materials included: Students receive a 25LB bag of clay, individual shelf space, glazing and firings, and scheduled Open Studio time in addition to class time.

In addition to providing the Gallery space (and, soon, the Banquet/ Multipurpose Room downstairs) for event Rentals, ClearWater Artist Studios also produces a growing variety of events. The 2nd Saturday Open Studios day, an open-house allowing access to artists working in their studios and anything else programmed that day, occurs monthly.
