CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Beginning Wheel at ClearWater Ceramics Center
Beginning Wheel is designed for students with little to no prior pottery experience who are eager to learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing. In this course, students will learn the basics of wheel-throwing, including centering on the wheel, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and more. Each week students will be challenged to grow and evolve creatively through guided instruction and through self-guided practice with scheduled Open Studio times. Min 6; Max 10
Materials Included: Students Receive a 25lb bag of clay, individual shelf space, glazing and firings, and scheduled Open Studio times in addition to class time.
Materials Needed: Students will need to bring in a 1-3 GAL bucket and a towel.
Registration can be done on-site at the Ceramics Center, the ClearWater Main Building, or other Parks & Recs Centers; online via https://secure.rec1.com/NC/concord-nc/catalog (click ‘Arts’ and then ‘Ceramics Center’); OR over the phone.
