This exciting event was documented in photos and video that have been, and are being uploaded (as editing unfolds) on the various FaceBook pages associated with the event, and with the Visual Strategies: A Collaborative Project Exhibition (FaceBook Gallery). Opening & Live Painting Event

On Opening Day, Sunday July 1st, Those who attended our Opening & Live Painting Event settled into rows of chairs to watch the synchronous, live-painting of a huge work of art by multiple artists.  Four regional members of the Global Art Project, or ‘GAP,’ an international collaborative-artists collective, and one non-affiliated Charlotte artist converged on ClearWater Artist Studios and spent three hours working together to create large, colorful mixed-media artworks on the Studios’ “Giant Easels.”  The resulting work, “Frags to Riches,” is by artists Christopher Padgett Hunnicutt (Raleigh, NC); Mikel Frank (Charlotte, NC); Claire Schauseil (Charlotte); Nancy Perry (Andersen, SC); Sandee Johnson (Asheville, NC) as well as Frank’s 5-year old nephew, Liam Borges.  See photos of it as well as video segments of the artists painting, in Discussion comments at the FaceBook Event Page for the Opening!
