Paul Keysar, of Charlotte, NC, is known for his classic, representational oil paintings and drawings of landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. He studied the landscape with artist Carolyn Egeli and the figure with Robert Liberace and Dan Thompson. Keysar graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Keysar has a passion for the land and is intrigued with the interaction of man and nature. “As an artist, I am continually observing life around me. I am fascinated by the effects of light, atmosphere, and weather. My style isn’t as loose as a lot of plein air painters. It’s tighter, very detailed, but I still try to maintain a painterly result. I strive for an accurate representation of the scene, though I will edit out, move, and occasionally add elements to make a more pleasing composition. The ultimate goal is to make the best painting possible."
He is available to give demonstrations and lectures and serve as judge/juror for art competitions. Keysar offers private art lessons, classes, and workshops for beginner through advanced students in drawing and painting. He accepts portrait, landscape, and still life drawing and painting commission requests.
